Your stay at the lodge
Blachford Lake Lodge was turned into a tourist destination is 1981. Comprising just one cabin initially, the main lodge was built in 1999 from locally harvested spruce. In 2023, Blachford Lake Lodge was acquired by Arctic Kingdom Expeditions, a pioneer in Arctic and Expedition touring in Canada’s north. A tour of the lodge facilities is part of your Blachford stay.
Previously all shared, our guest accommodations have all been recently renovated. We have added one new lodge room in the main lodge – we have 3 lodge rooms with private full ensuite facilities (shower, toilet, sink), and 3 lodge rooms with shared facilities (steps from the room’s doorstep – these lodge rooms are 20% off the listed accommodation rate package whilst shared). We will be renovating these three rooms to add ensuite facilities in late 2025.
Each of our 5 hand-crafted log cabins has a private shower, toilet and sink. They have been completely renovated, modernized and updated with convenience, décor and amenities. They are wonderful for privacy, and are the ultimate secluded relaxation spot, about a 3-5 minute walk from the main lodge.
For families, we have the ability to add 1-2 cots to a couple of our cabins and lodge rooms. Please inquire for availability. We have pack and plays available for our youngest guests. Must be pre-booked prior to arrival.
Your visit to Blachford begins with thrilling step back into Canada’s history: a 20-minute bush-plane flight from Yellowknife, landing on Blachford Lake, in an aircraft equipped with skis in winter, or floats in the summer. Read about the exciting bush-plane flight from Yellowknife.
Sip coffee by the fire place or read a book by the window as the snow falls around you. The rooms and lodge at Blachford are comfortable and cozy year-round.
