Choosing The Right Time to Visit Blachford
So you’d like to head to beautiful Blachford Lake Lodge in the remote wilderness of the Northwest Territories. We can’t blame you! We quite like it here. We’re known for our spectacular Aurora Borealis viewing outside of Yellowknife, and enjoy hosting guests from all over the world.
We have two main seasons for Aurora viewing and activities:
Summer/Autumn at Blachford
Perfect for those wishing to experience the Aurora Borealis in warmer temperatures, or take photographs of the lights reflecting on the lake.
If you have any questions about visitng us during the Summer and Autumn, please don’t hesitate to contact our office.
For a fishing experience under the Midnight Sun (June through July only), summer is a fantastic time to visit as well, although there is like 24 hours a day.
Winter/Spring at Blachford
Winter is perfect for guests wishing to experience all that a Canadian winter has to offer. From sparkling snow, to winter activities, winter and spring boast beautiful Aurora viewing, with plenty of opportunities to get outside and stay active, or curl up next to a fire and relax.
