Accommodation & Dining
The Government of the Northwest Territories is currently restricting travel into the NWT. As a result we are operating this winter, however you must have proper permission to enter the NWT. Please see: https://www.gov.nt.ca/covid-19/en/services/travel-moving-around/travellers-arriving-nwt for entry requirements and details. At the moment we are taking new bookings for travel December 21, 2020-April, 2021 for NWT residents only. We are taking bookings from out of territory travellers from June 1, 2021 onwards. Thank you for your understanding.
Main Lodge
The main lodge is the heart and soul of Blachford Lake Lodge. Located atop a rolling hill, the main floor serves as the lounge, with bar, dining room and library. The main floor also houses the kitchen and a small office, and his and hers showers and washrooms, shared with cabin guests. Unusually for such a remote facility, our washrooms not only have hot running water, but also hotel-syle toilets; you would hardly know they are the eco-friendly composting kind!
There are five large guest rooms on the second floor of the main lodge, with access to shared shower and washrooms. Lodge rooms are dressed with down duvets, and feature huge windows with expansive views.
Sunrise Rooms
Our largest guest rooms are the Sunrise Rooms (Sunrise 1 & Sunrise 2), and each feature 2x double beds (an additional twin can be added). Sunrise 2 is known as the "Kate & William Room", as it was the room used by Prince William and Kate, the Dutchess during their time at the lodge.
Sunset Rooms
Guest Cabins
There are five log guest cabins detached from the main lodge (approximately 5-9 minute walk) to choose from - separated for privacy. Each has its own lake view, outside bonfire pit and a high-tech en suite composting toilet, and wash basin. All cabins have electric lighting and power and feature a minimum of three beds with down duvets. Showers and bathrooms are a five minute walk to the lodge. All cabins are heated by a cozy wood or pellet stove. The lodge and all cabins enjoy free wireless internet access. They are all non-smoking.
When you book into a cabin, you stay only with the group you're travelling with (unless you are a solo willing-to-share traveller).
Old Trappers Cabin
This is the original Blachford Lake Lodge cabin, and a favorite of many guests. Trapper Henry Cadieux was the original owner and his single room cabin is a perfect example of a traditional Northern home. There is one double bed and four single bunks accommodating five or six persons.
This cabin has an ensuite toilet facility.
Point Cabin
The Point is a rocky outcrop on Blachford Lake. This cabin, with sleeping loft, boasts a magnificent view and its romantic setting is a favorite of honeymooners and newlyweds. It can comfortably sleep five in two beds and one double bunk.
This cabin has an ensuite toilet facility.
Raven's Roost
One of a pair of cabins, the Raven's Roost faces south, with light most of the day. Eagle's and Raven's are the newest of the log cabins, referred to as ‘the duplex’ because they are attached. They are mirror images of one another.
This cabin has an ensuite toilet facility.
Eagle's Net
Beaver Lodge
Beaver Lodge has a loft with two double beds plus a double bunk on the main floor and sleeps four to six guests. It is on the lakefront, handy to the fishing dock – a favourite of summer guests wanting to fish in the early morning. This cabin is the furtherst from the main lodge, and is about three minutes on foot from the main lodge. Beaver Lodge has a very similar layout to that of Point Cabin.
This cabin has an ensuite toilet facility.
